Indian company Punj Lloyd Ltd and Israeli private defense concern IWI signed the Treaty on the creation in India of a joint venture for the production of small arms.
In the first phase the company will produce spare parts for small arms for export to Israel. It is anticipated that India will produce up to 80% of the parts produced by IWI in Israel for the Tavor and other types of firearms.
In the second stage the company will engage in joint development of new types of weapons, from pistols to machine guns.
Recall that IWI, in addition to Tavor, also manufactures sub-machine guns «Uzi», submachine guns automatic rifle, pistols «Jericho», «Barack» and the Desert Eagle, light machine guns the Negev.
