The Supreme court of India was not allowed to have an abortion a 10-year-old girl who allegedly was raped by her uncle. She was refused on the grounds that it is too late to terminate the pregnancy, reports on Friday, July 28, BBC.
Doctors told the court that the young Indian woman is in the 32nd week of pregnancy. According to them, abortion on this term would be «too risky».
The pregnancy of the girl was discovered two weeks ago when she complained of stomach pain, the parents took her to the hospital.
Indian law does not allow you to terminate the pregnancy to term more than 20 weeks except when the mother’s life is in danger.
