On Saturday evening, February 20, in the Shechem (Nablus) again, there were clashes between the militant group Fatah and members of the security services of the Palestinian authority, said the Agency Safa.
Clashes began on Thursday when supporters of Fatah celebrated the release from Israeli prison one of the activists of this group of Imad Amira, who spent 10 years for terrorist activities. During the celebration of Fatah militants opened fire in the air, the police tried to restore order, but the militants refused to comply, and law enforcement officers were forced to use weapons.
The original collision occurred in the center of Nablus. Then the militants took refuge in the village of RAS al-ain, East of Nablus. The youth in this village refused to let police arrived to arrest the rioters, erecting barricades and burning tires. They also threw stones at the police.
Safa notes that clashes continue for the third day, and skirmishes are taking place not only in RAS al-ain, but also in Nablus.
