A Hamas delegation will head in the coming days to Cairo to continue negotiations with representatives of Egypt. This is the second visit of representatives of the group for the last time — the first was held about a month ago.
«The starting point of negotiations will be the existing agreements, the main of which – the construction of a hundred-meter buffer zone on the border and construction of a 12-kilometrovogo highway along it,» said the Deputy Minister of internal Affairs of Hamas, Tawfiq Abu Naim.
He also said that the border will be equipped with surveillance cameras, and other electronic means, as well as watchtowers and floodlights.
Hamas spokesman noted that the dynamics of relations with Egypt in recent years dramatically changed for the better. According to him, the security interests of Egypt do not differ from the interests of the security of the Gaza strip.
Note that, according to reports in the Arab media, Egypt is trying to attract to the governance of Gaza Muhammad Dahlan, the chief opponent of Mahmoud Abbas in the Fatah movement. Hamas is also interested in this.
