A member of Knesset, Oren Hazan weighs the opportunity to run in the primaries for the post of head of the Likud party, media reported.
According to published information, the chazan told the members of the Central Committee of the «Likud» during the vote, held the day before. According to confidants of the chazan, he’s not going to win these primaries, but wants a way «to strengthen its status in the party».
According to «Maariv-Shavua», December 28, Oren Hazan met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. According to the Deputy, «all differences have been eliminated».
Since the beginning of the work of the Knesset on the 20th convocation Oren Hazan repeatedly became the hero of scandals. On 2 December the parliamentary ethics Committee suspended him for a month from participating in the plenary sessions of the Knesset and from work in the parliamentary commissions. The decision was made after considering a series of complaints by «non-parliamentary behaviour» of the Deputy.
We will remind that the day before members of the Central Committee of the «Likud» absolute majority of votes approved the postponement of the primaries to the post of leader of the party on February 23. At the moment nobody has put up its candidates against Benjamin Netanyahu, but it is clear that none of the potential successors to the current leader of the «Likud» will not participate in these elections.
