On Tuesday evening, June 20, at the Central station of Brussels, near cash registers, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device when he tried to approach law enforcement officers. Before the explosion, the Belgian media reports, the terrorist shouted «Allah Akbar».
The terrorist opened fire.
Later from the received wounds the man died in hospital, his identity is established, according to the Prosecutor’s office of Belgium.
No one, except the terrorist, was not injured.
In connection with this incident was suspended the movement of trains in Brussels. Police evacuated citizens from the Central station, the Grand place and several of the nearby streets.
After explosion on a scene there was a small fire. Was summoned firefighters, who quickly coped with fire.
The Belgian Prosecutor’s office qualified the incident as a terrorist attack. The investigation is being conducted.
