Monday, February 12, in Moscow will host a meeting of Palestinian authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main topic of discussion will be the formation of a new international mechanism for the middle East peace process, reports TASS with reference to the Advisor to Abbas.
The Palestinian side stressed that the US should not be the only player in this process and that the PNA want to, and Russia played an active role in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The meeting between Putin and Abbas were to be held in Sochi, but the Russian President has postponed a trip to Sochi because of a plane crash in the suburbs. Thus the Palestinian delegation headed by Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Moscow.
Mahmoud Abbas on this trip, accompany a member of the PLO Executive Committee Ahmad Majdalani, Minister of foreign Affairs Riad al-Malki, a member of the Central Committee of Fatah, Hussein al-Sheikh, Abbas’s adviser for international Affairs Nabil Shaath and other officials.
Another major theme of the talks will be the situation after the announcement of Donald trump on moving the U.S. Embassy from tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
