1 February, defense Minister Moshe ya’alon signed a decree on the extension of administrative detention by Meir Etinger another four months. This is in agreement with the General security service.
Ettinger, grandson of Rabbi Meir Kahane, suspected of creating «clandestine far-right extremist organization,» which account for the burning of mosques and churches, including the arson of a mosque in Umm El-Fahm and the arson of the Church of the multiplication of loaves and fishes on the shores of lake Kinneret. The Etinger is also attributed to the authorship manuals «Kingdom of evil», which is supplied ideological base for attacks against Arabs and mosques, and also contains recommendations how to behave during interrogations and to evade surveillance.
About two weeks ago Meir Etinger began a hunger strike, seeking his release from detention. According to media reports, last week because of the hunger strike his health condition deteriorated and he lost consciousness.
