Political commentator of the 10th Israeli television channel (14-button) Barak Ravid reports that on January 31 in Jerusalem will arrive the representative Russian delegation headed by Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev.
The delegation will also be Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia, Deputy Minister of defence, Deputy Minister of justice, senior officers of the Russian army and intelligence.
According to the published information, it is on the working visit in which course it is planned to discuss issues related to the themes that were raised during the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, held on 29 January in Moscow.
As reported by the media, one of the main topics at these talks was the discussion of measures to curb expansion of Iran in Syria. But neither the press service of the Kremlin, nor the press service of the head of the Israeli government did not disclose any details about the meeting.
Radio «Kahn Beth» citing its sources reported that during the conversation, Netanyahu among others has acquainted Putin with the data of the Israeli intelligence on the construction of Iran in Lebanon factories for the production of rockets and with the position of the Israeli leadership on this issue.
Later, the head of the government in Facebook wrote: «I told Vladimir Putin that Israel is concerned about two recent developments: 1. Tehran’s attempts to establish military bases in Syria; 2. The intention of Iran to produce in Lebanon high-precision weapons for use against the state of Israel.» «I made it clear that Israel will not accept any of these attempts and will act as needed,» wrote Netanyahu.
Held on January 29, the meeting between Putin and Netanyahu was the seventh from September 2015, when Russia launched a military operation in Syria, supporting the regime of Bashar Assad and the entrenched military bases in Hamima and Tartus.
Media reported that shortly before the meeting with Netanyahu, Putin talked by phone with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The Lebanese newspaper «al-Diyar» wrote that Assad allegedly said to Putin that he will no longer tolerate any Israeli attacks on the Syrian objects and asked to sell anti-aircraft missile system s-400. In another publication of the same newspaper it was claimed that in a telephone conversation with Putin the Syrian President threatened to launch a missile attack on the Israeli airport of a name Ben-Gurion. Official confirmation of the fact that such a conversation took place, from Moscow or Damascus were reported.
The meeting between Putin and Netanyahu in Moscow was held in the day in Sochi started the «Congress of national dialogue» to resolve the crisis in Syria. The press service of the Kremlin said that Putin is not planning to take part in this forum.
