Three-month Harvey Kenyon, Cairns was summoned for interrogation to the U.S. Embassy in London after his 62-year-old grandfather Paul Kenyon made an unfortunate mistake when filling out the child for a U.S. visa, answering «Yes» to the question: «Are you related to terrorist activities, espionage, sabotage or genocide?»
According to the British newspaper The Guardian, this mistake cost the family of Kenanov 3 thousand pounds, in addition, it required roughly 10-hour journey to London and back to Poynton (East Cheshire), home to the family.
The family of Kanonov was about to fly to his Villa in Florida, a little Harvey they took with them for the first time. From-for the errors failed to get a visa for the child at the time.
As told by Paul Kenyon on «the interrogation» at the Embassy Harvey acted like the Golden child and never cried. Grandpa assured reporters that the baby never engaged in genocide or espionage, though messed a lot of diapers at the Embassy of the United States from such jokes, he refrained, noting the lack of a sense of humor of the people conducting the «interrogation».
In the end, the whole family was able to gather in a Villa in Florida with some delay: Paul with his wife and eldest granddaughter took off first, and Harvey’s parents had arrived a few days later.
Paul Kenyon says he was discouraged by the unwillingness of the us Embassy to agree that there was an unfortunate mistake, and appreciate the comic element of the situation.
