The day before the opening of the Winter Olympic games in South Korea, the North Korean authorities held in Pyongyang military parade, which, according to the secret services of Seoul, was attended by several hundred units of military equipment and about 13 thousand troops, the BBC reported, citing South Korean media.
The annual military parade, usually held in the DPRK in April, but this year the North Korean authorities moved the parade, and reduced its scale.
Earlier, North Korean media reported that DPRK representatives will not meet during the games with us officials.
A day earlier it was announced that the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN will attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic games.
We will remind that South Korea has offered to begin high-level talks with North Korea on 1 Jan. This proposal came after new year’s address North Korean leader, in which he stated that he is open to talks with Seoul.
