One of the leaders of the political leadership of the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas in the Gaza strip Mahmoud al-Zahar, speaking on Monday, 14 December, in Gaza at the ceremony, timed to coincide with the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the «Islamic resistance movement», said that his organization will not disclose information about a captured Israeli soldiers as long as the Israelites are not released from prisons all activists of the Hamas, released under the «Shalit deal», but later again detained for terrorist activities. Mahmoud al-Zahar was born in 1945. His father was a Palestinian Arab, his mother was an Egyptian.

In 1987, al-Zahar and al-Rantisi was to the action group, under the spiritual guidance of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, which, with the assistance of the Egyptian «Muslim brotherhood», founded the Palestinian «Islamic resistance movement» (Hamas).
Note that formally al-Zahar is not considered one of the founders of Hamas, as was not a party to the constituent Assembly of 1987.
