Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on 9 December in his office in Jerusalem with the Prime Minister of Macedonia Nikola Gruevski. The leaders of the two countries signed an agreement on prevention of double taxation and the joint statement on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Israel and Macedonia.
Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed satisfaction with the ties between the two countries cooperating in the field of energy, water resources, agriculture, science, education and technology. He also stressed the importance of cooperation in the field of security and combating terror.
The press service of the head of government noted that in Israel positive about the cooperation with Macedonia, and appreciate the efforts of the government of this country to perpetuate the memory of the Jews killed in the Holocaust. In the message it is noted that recently in the capital of Macedonia, Skopje, opened a Holocaust Museum. In addition initiated the reconstruction of the old Jewish cemetery in the region, located in Bitola.
