On Sunday, 6 November, 68-year-old resident of Sydney in pursuit of a thief who stole cash, valuables and car keys, used sports bow: the arrow hit the thief in the back, reports the BBC.
Details about this incident, writes the Australian edition of ABC News. The article says that the attacker entered the house the elderly couple living in the South-Western outskirts of Sydney. Stealing money and a purse with valuables in it, the offender rushed to the side of the garage where it was parked in the owner’s SUV Nissan X-Trail. When he started the car and began to drive out of the garage, the road was blocked by the owner of the house, armed with bow and arrows. The robber lost control and the car crashed into a fence. Then the offender jumped out of the car, climbed over the fence and ran to the Mazda Tribute SUV, which was parked near the house. At this point, the owner of the house climbed the fence and fired at the robber from a bow, hitting him in the soft part of the body below the back.
Despite his wounds, the robber managed to make «Mazda» and to escape from the scene of the crime. His search continues. The police appealed to the next medical institution with a request: to report men 30-35 years, received the «unusual wound» in the posterior part of the body.
The owner of the house, injuring the offender may face charges, as the use of weapons in a situation when there was no immediate threat to life in Australia is prohibited.
