Approved the first reading of a bill allowing police to record the location of the caller to the dispatcher service

Monday, 12 June, the Knesset approved the first reading of a bill granting the police the right to automatically establish the location of the person calling the dispatcher service.

Under the bill, the location of the person who receives the number 100 will be set automatically, and the police don’t have to waste time finding where is the caller, who may need help.

The bill was approved in first reading on the day when three years have passed since the abduction of Gilad Shaera, Naftali Frenkel and ifrah. This legislative initiative was put forward by the Minister of internal security by Gilad Ardana, and is one of the findings of the investigation into the abduction of young people and their unsuccessful search in the first hours after the accident.
