Argentina agreed to international assistance: the search for the missing submarine joined NASA

Argentine authorities have agreed to accept the assistance of foreign countries to search for the missing combat submarine San Juan. Help offered USA, UK and Chile.

The search operation has involved aircraft, NASA P-3 Orion equipped with a magnetometer, infra-red cameras and other equipment that allows to detect the submarine, even if it sank, according to the website arstechnica.com.

Military submarine San Juan type TR-1700 of the Navy of Argentina’s disappeared off the coast of Patagonia, a region located in the southern part of South America. On Board there are 44 crew members. Communication with the submarine is lost for more than two days ago. The submarine stopped communicating in the way from the port of Ushuaia in the city of Mar del Plata.
