The new York city police have arrested a 14-year-old, a suspect in the arson of the synagogue «Beit a-Midrash-and-Gadol», located on the Lower East side in Manhattan and is a historical monument.

The attacker was arrested Wednesday night at his home, located next door to the synagogue, and on the same day will appear before the court on family Affairs, as reported by the newspaper The New York Post, not calling the name of a teenager in connection with a young age.
Camera outdoor surveillance video captured the three Teens, who ran away from the synagogue on Sunday evening, after a short time after the fire building. Friends of the detainee told police that he was the initiator of this action.
The fire lasted for several hours extinguishing it injured two firefighters.

Contractors tried to challenge this status with the aim to build on the territory of the elite housing. They promised to build a small synagogue on the ground floor is a historic building.
Rabbi Mendel Greenbaum, who heads the synagogue, said in an interview with CBS New York that developed the project of renovation of the building, however, in connection with the fire and the damage these plans will not be achieved.
