On Tuesday, September 5, at the international airport in Timna landed the aircraft of the airline Arkia. The flight was accomplished in the framework of the exercise «Open flight», during which was tested the readiness of the airfield, as well as the actions of the rescue services during emergencies and airport compliance with international requirements.
Radio «Kahn Beth» reported that the airport had been issued one-day permit to work.
The exercise was attended by about 450 people, including representatives of the Ministry of transport, civil aviation Department, ground staff of the airport, «Ramon», airlines, the Israel police, the fire service and the IDF.
Airport «Ramon» will be another international airport in Israel, receiving domestic and international flights. It is expected that the airport will handle about two million passengers per year.
