According to a report by state Comptroller Yosef Shapira, the regular late arrival of doctors on the morning shift and maintenance of the operating one hour before the end of the day are the main causes of long waiting lists for operations.
Working day operating in Israeli hospitals begins at 7:30 in the morning, the average operating start working with 40-minute delay. The interval between operations is also about 40 minutes, which is twice the period of time set by the Ministry of health.
Formally, the banking day ends at Israeli hospitals at 15:30, however, in such hospitals as «Wolfson» and «Beilinson» of the operating ends before two in the afternoon.
Among the other reasons why the Israelis are waiting for operations for a long time, outdated equipment, severe shortage of nurses and inefficient management of the operating room.
