The city Council in the German city of Bayreuth, the Federal state of Bavaria, was awarded the prize for tolerance and 10.000 Euro American non-governmental organisation Code Pink, which denies Israel’s right to exist and supports with Iranian Holocaust deniers.
For this decision voted 23 members of the Council, against were 18 reports Wednesday, February 25, the website of the newspaper The Jerusalem Post.
The Israeli Embassy in Berlin and Consulate-General in Munich have already expressed their outrage, issuing in connection with this event a special statement.
«It is outrageous that Germany has decided to award the prize for tolerance and humanitarization that openly denies Israel’s right to exist. The impression that the Bayreuth these concepts mean cooperation with the Holocaust deniers of Iran, the boycott of Israel and a denial of his right to life,» reads the document.
