In Ukraine at the beginning of June this year registered about 500 cases of suicide combatants in the conflict zone in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. This was announced by the Minister of internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov on his page on the social network Facebook.
«According to the military Prosecutor’s office at the beginning of June 2017 registered about 500 cases of suicides of members of the antiterrorist operation after returning from the combat zone» – quoted by news Agency UNIAN.
According to Avakov, 90-95% of combatants subsequently have a medical (related to nervous system) and social problems, about a third of them are diagnosed with PTSD, which is often suicide. This is a widely recognised international standard for military conflicts.
Interior Minister of Ukraine also writes that, according to the International human rights centre «La Strada Ukraine», in 2015 the number of applications of family members of ATO participants with complaints of domestic violence increased by eight times.
From the point of view of the presence of PTSD must take into account the hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons and those remaining in the combat zone. Thus, risk is a very large number of people.
