Ban Ki-moon: I am ashamed for the lack of progress in the peace process

UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon stated that he was ashamed, and he feels guilty because of the stagnation of the peace process in the middle East. He was speaking at an event at Chatham House in London.

He urged Palestinian and Israeli leaders to settle the conflict and stressed that it is not in the interests of one country or the government, but for all the peoples of the Middle East.

Presumably, ban Ki-moon will attempt to make progress in the peace process before the expiry of his term of office as Secretary-General of the United Nations. He will leave his post at the end of 2016. But the Israeli government recently accused him of supporting terror for its reckless statements.

January 26-General ban Ki-moon said that Palestinians «respond to Israeli occupation, and this is inherent in human nature». The Palestinian news Agency WAFA has used this phrase in the report about the terrorist attack at the Nablus gate in Jerusalem, when three terrorists attacked the guards, killed Adar Cohen and wounded her companion. The terrorists destroyed.

The Israeli government protested the statements of the UN Secretary-General, and he said that his words had been distorted. Ban Ki-moon urged Israel and the PA to understand that the current situation can not exist for long, since it leads only to more violence.

Soon ban Ki-moon should speak in the synagogue in Manhattan, and his speech, is likely to also be devoted to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
