The new head coach of basketball club «Barcelona» specialist appointed Serbian Svetislav Pesic, according to the official website of the club.
68-year-old coach will lead the Catalans to the end of the season.
He’s already Waslala Barcelona in 2002-04. The Catalans under his leadership were twice Champions of Spain. In 2003 they won the King’s Cup and winners of the Euroleague.
Svetislav Pesic played for Yugoslav clubs «Partizan» and «Bosna» (champion of Yugoslavia 1978, and the owner of the Cup of Champions FIBA, 1979).
He is one of the most renowned coaches in Europe.
He coached the club «Bosna» (champion of Yugoslavia in 1983, Cup Yugoslavia, 1984), Alba (Berlin) (four-time German champion, two-time winner of the German Cup, the Korac Cup in 1995, three times voted coach of the year in Germany), «Rhine Energi», «Lottomatica», «Girona» (winner of the FIBA Eurocup 2007), «Dynamo» (Moscow), «Crvena Zvezda», «Valencia», «Bayern» (German champion 2014).
Svetislav Pesic coached the national teams of Yugoslavia (Junior) (European champion in 1985 and the world, 1987), Germany (European champion 1993), Yugoslavia (European champion 2001, 2002 world).
