Jerusalem mayor NIR Barkat addressed a special letter to the legal adviser of the government Avihay Mandelblit about the consequences of the dismantling of the Outpost of Amona, said Second channel ITV.
In the letter, Barkat warned that the destruction of Amun will have consequences in Jerusalem. According to the head of the municipality of the capital, the dismantling of the Outpost creates a precedent that will lead to the destruction of numerous homes in the Arab neighborhoods of the capital. «Judicial decision on the question Amon forced the Jerusalem municipality to be active in the fight against illegal construction,» — said in a letter to NIR Barkat of.
Explaining the reason for its appeal to the legal Advisor to the government, the mayor said: «it is unacceptable double standards, and with the situation in which Jews and Arabs are subject to different rules».
Currently, the office of the legal adviser to the government does not comment on this treatment of Barkat.
Recall that the government asked the Supreme court to postpone the date of the destruction of the Outpost of Amona. According to the current decision of the high Court, the village must be destroyed before December 25. Addressing the court, the government does not appeal the decision on dismantle of Amun, and only requested the transfer date, which should help in the search for a compromise solution. The Minister of education and head of the party «Bayt Yehudi» Naftali Bennett said that if the deadline for the dismantling Amun is changed, his party will continue to actively promote the law on the legalization of the outposts.
