Professor Asa kasher at the request of education Minister Naftali Bennett made the ethical code of the Israeli universities, that University teachers will not be allowed to give lectures on their political views.
In response, the Council of deans of Israeli universities issued a statement in which it expresses its protest against the compiled code and Kasher insists that a ban on expressing teachers their political views is a gross violation of academic freedom.
Later, the Council of deans joined the teaching staff of higher educational institutions of the country. Some teachers call for a strike against the new decree.
However, ordered by the Bennett code of ethics, there are advocates. In particular, Dean, Ariel University reacted to the ban positively.
The Professor himself kasher, best known as the originator of the ethical code of the IDF, said that «left-wing» protest against the compiled code of ethics for universities, just because the code was compiled on the orders of Naftali Bennett.
