Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar addressed to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev with a request to rid the political scene of the country from anti-Semitism, reported the press service of the Lazare.
The reason for the appeal was the regional Congress of the party «United Russia» in Chelyabinsk. During the Convention one of the participants said about the «conspiracy» against the Russian people, on the brink of extinction after «the Jewish revolution» under Yeltsin. The party condemned the statement, but not suspended for making this statement activist from internal elections.
Berl Lazar has written an open letter to Dmitry Medvedev and asked him, as Prime Minister and Chairman of United Russia, to clear the political arena of the country from the manifestations of anti-Semitism.
In the complaint, the Rabbi noted that «thanks to the wise policy of the leadership of the country’s anti-Semitism in Russia at first declined, and then was marginalized. But for the same reason any anti-Semitic prank to attract attention to themselves. Especially when talking about the incident, which involved an activist of the ruling party».
