The parliamentary Committee on legislation approved a bill requiring all government and public institutions, as well as companies providing services to the population, to accept complaints from the public, sent via email, not via Fax.
The bill was developed by the Deputy from party «Likud» Sharen Axel. And he, if passed by the Knesset, will be binding for state institutions, kindergartens, schools and universities, banks, water companies, health insurance companies, hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, mobile communications companies, Hot and Yes, Internet providers, etc., writes The Marker.
In the Preface to his bill Sharen Axel writes that in 2017 it is impossible to demand from citizens to use outdated technology, she said, these days it is extremely difficult to find a Fax machine.
Note that this is not the first attempt of legislators to deliver the Israelites from having to use Fax. 22 February a law was passed requiring local authorities to take treatment of citizens by e-mail. The act requires local authorities to publish on the Internet all the forms that may be required for citizens to obtain services.
In addition, in January 2016, the government approved the proposal of the Minister of social equality Gila Gamliel abolishing the use of Fax when contacting government agencies and ministries.
