The «Norwegian marksman» Anders Breivik, who is serving a prison term for murdering 77 fellow countrymen and replaced the prison name on Fatalf Hansen, appealed to the European court of human rights (ECHR) appeal and requires improvement of conditions of detention.
About it writes on Thursday, June 29, the news Agency Reuters with reference to the lawyer of the prisoner of øystein of Storvik.
According to the lawyer, Breivik complains of «extreme isolation» in which he dwells more than five years and which is detrimental to his psyche. Judges found that the prisoner’s stay in a three-room prison cell can not be considered a violation of human rights.
Earlier this month, the Norwegian Supreme court dismissed the lawsuit in March, Breivik, and he appealed to the higher court in Strasbourg.
In March this year the court of appeal reversed the decision of the district court of Oslo in April last year, recognized that the conditions of detention of Breivik, which is in strict isolation in a single three-chamber are «inhuman». According to the statement of the court of appeal, insulation Breivik is dictated by the danger he presents to other prisoners, and also fears for the life of Breivik.
We will remind, on July 22, 2011, Anders Breivik committed the terrorist act in Oslo, and then went to the island of Utoya killed at a youth camp. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison with possible extension. Currently, Breivik is serving his term in solitary confinement in the prison city of Skien.
