On Sunday evening, may 14, in the ancient synagogue «Beit Midrash and-Gadol», located on Manhattan in new York, a fierce fire broke out.
As reported nbcnewyork.com the fire started around 19:00 local time, shortly during extinguishing it collapsed the roof of the synagogue.
The fire was localized, but the synagogue of the XIX century, it caused significant damage.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire becomes clear.
«The Beit Midrash and-Gadol» was the oldest synagogue in new York, it was built in 1850-ies, the Jews who arrived from Russia. In 2013, a question was raised about the demolition of the building.
