Wednesday, December 9, was allowed to publish the information that the police detained three activists of the movement for animal rights.
The detainees are suspected of attacking a vet from Beit Shemesh, which is in the scope of its activity were experimenting on animals. Portal Walla reported that the veterinarian is also a teacher at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
According to published information, the incident occurred almost three weeks ago. Late that evening the vet called the house and asked to arrive at some place to assist wounded animal. When the vet arrived at the designated place, he was attacked by several people and beaten up, and then fled the scene of the crime.
The vet was taken to hospital where he gave a description of the physical characteristics of the attackers. Soon they were detained.
It is assumed that the crime was committed on ideological grounds. The police suspects that one of the detainees was the initiator of the attack, and its main organizer.
On 9 December, the detention was extended by the world court of Jerusalem.
