The bus company «Dan» has completed negotiations with the ministries of transport and Finance on a new Treaty on state subsidies.
According to The Marker, the state will provide subsidies in the amount of 2.5-3 billion shekels for 10 years.
Thus in contrast to the previous agreement from 2007, which was paid total subsidy regardless of the scope of the company, in the new agreement the grant will be paid on the basis of reports on completed trips and mileage.
According to estimates of the Ministry of Finance, under the previous agreement, the company receives from the state about 150 million shekels excessive subsidies.
Under the agreement the company has committed to significantly upgrade the fleet of buses, getting rid of buses older than 10 years, as well as to purchase 100 electric buses. In addition, will be tightened requirements for the quality of the service, the violation of which would entail heavy fines.
The bus company «Dan» monitors at the moment 14% of the market, a monopolist in tel Aviv.
