Astronaut John young, vyshivaniya on the moon, died in the United States at the age of 87 years.
According to the report, published on Saturday, January 6, the National Board of the USA on Aeronautics and research of space administration (NASA), Yang died the day before from complications of pneumonia.
John young in 1952 graduated with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology and received a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics. After serving in the U.S. Navy was sent to the school of test pilots. From 1959 served as a test pilot in the Navy. In September 1962 was selected for the second group of NASA astronauts.
Young was the only American astronaut taking part in space missions in the framework of three programs – Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle. He flew into space six times, twice was part of the expeditions to the moon. In 1972 became the ninth person to set foot on its surface.
