In the United States at the age of 89, in hospital Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia died Zbigniew Brzezinski, American political scientist and statesman, the adviser of US President Jimmy Carter’s national security.
Brzezinski is a Sovietologist by education, author of the global strategy of anti-communism. Involved in the organization of the movement of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to counter the Soviet invasion. Later he played an active extension of NATO to the East.
He was one of the architects of the peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel.
Spoke in support of the nuclear agreement with Iran and urged the Obama administration to shoot down Israeli planes if they try to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Insisted on the need for American pressure on Israel within the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.
