The remains of the legendary Brazilian football player mane Garrincha (Manuel Francisco DOS Santos) disappeared after the exhumation from a cemetery in the state of Rio de Janeiro, reports TASS reported citing local media.
This was stated by the daughter of footballer Rosangela shower Santos.
She had planned to pass near the grave of a commemorative ceremony.
Garrincha remains were removed from the crypt a few years ago at the request of a family member. Where they are now unknown.
The administrator of the cemetery said, » We have studied this question, and are unable to say with certainty that at the moment he is buried here. We have information about the exhumation and moving of remains to another place, but where exactly we don’t know».
Garrincha is considered one of the best players in the world and «the best dribbler in football history». He’s the world champion in 1958 and 1962.
Most of his «bow-Legged angel» (Garrincha one leg shorter than the other by six centimeters) played in Botafogo. At the end of his career he played for clubs «Corinthians», «Portuguesa» (Rio de Janeiro), «Atletico Junior» (Barranquilla, Colombia), «Flamengo», «Alaria».
