A member of Knesset, Constantine Razvozov («Yesh Atid»), in the composition of the Israeli delegation, took part in the session of the OSCE parliamentary Assembly held in Vienna. During the Convention, he held a meeting with his counterparts from the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, having discussed the Russian initiative on cooperation in combating international terrorism, as well as the decision to close the Israeli Embassy in Minsk, reports the press service of «Yesh Atid».
During the meetings, the Russian envoy to the OSCE PA on anti-terrorism, the Deputy of the state Duma Nikolay Kovalev, presented a report on the necessity of establishing an international anti-terrorist organization. Constantine Razvozov had discussed the report with its author during the meeting. Policy confirmed a commitment to support the cooperation between the two countries in the fight against the global threat of terrorism.
Razvozov also commented on the Russian initiative: «In his report, Nikolai Kovalev said that it is impossible to fight terrorism until the terrorists themselves are divided into «bad» and «good», «friends» and «foes». I fully agree with this position. Combining forces in the struggle against world terrorism is a necessity. We have a common enemy and working together we can prevent many of the attacks… I will promote cooperation between Russia and Israel in the framework of this initiative».
Member of the Knesset met with his Belarusian colleague –the Deputy Chairman of the House of representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Viktor Guminsky. They discussed the decision to close the Israeli Embassy in Belarus. According to the Belarusian MP, this decision of the Israeli authorities has caused a wide resonance and indignation in his country. «Israel commits error, and Belarus will be forced to retaliate by closing its office in Israel,» he said.
Constantine Razvozov said in response: «the decision to close the Israeli Embassy in Belarus is absolutely absurd. There are many States with which Israel is linked by a less close relationship, but we are not planning to close its offices there. Israel and the Republic of Belarus cooperate in many areas, besides Israel is home to large community of immigrants from that country. The closure of the Embassy in the Republic of Belarus is contrary to our national interests. In the first place it will cause harm to Israel, striking at his image on the world stage. Our countries are linked not only in international cooperation».
