17-year-old German skier Max Burkhart received severe injuries from which he later died in the hospital during training in lake Louis, Canada, reports the Calgary Herald.
He was taken by helicopter to the hospital of Foothills in calgary. Doctors evaluated the condition of the athlete as critical.
Max Burkhart was a member of the Garmisch Ski Club, based in the German Alps, near Munich, and a student at Sugar Bowl Academy, a ski Academy in California.
He began his career in November 2016, and participated in 60 tournaments in Europe and North America.
In Canada he came to participate Nor-Am Cup.
