Economic Committee of the Knesset decided to resume the approval process of amendments to the law on the spam that would extend the law on non-profit and non-governmental organizations.
The amendment submitted by the MP Micky Rosenthal («the Zionist camp») in the Knesset the previous convocation, was approved in a preliminary reading, but then her assertion was frozen due to the elections.
After the decision of the economic Committee of the Knesset deputies and the Ministers devoted two weeks to consider their position, after which the bill will be voted on first reading at the Knesset plenary session.
Recall that approved in 2008, the bill prohibits sending advertising by electronic mail, sms messages or dialing without the consent of the subscriber. However, this law only applies to commercial structures. Therefore, different NGOs, especially those associated with religious organizations, actively use the system’s recall for the advertisement of blessings and invitations to visit the graves of the righteous.
It should be noted that even after the amendment act will not apply to political parties and politicians.
