The Ministry of environment of Egypt formed a Commission whose members have to answer what caused this year the invasion of jellyfish on the beaches on the Egyptian coast of the Mediterranean sea.
The website ABC News reported that this year on the Egyptian coast, there has been «unprecedented» gathering of jellyfish. And, annoy the bathers the jellyfish «homeland» which is the Indian ocean or the Red sea.
Marine «guests» ruined the summer beach season the Egyptians and tourists. Rare vacationers venture into the sea.
Many of the Egyptian environmentalists are convinced that the invasion of jellyfish is a consequence of the expansion of the Suez canal. However, the authorities are reminded that, for example, rhopilema, which are native to the Indian ocean, appeared in the Mediterranean in the 70-ies of the last century.
The Ministry of environment of Egypt believe that the invasion was caused by the abundance of food and the increase of organic pollution of coastal waters.
