Egypt told the UN security Council that the bombing of bases of the terrorist organization «Islamic state», located on the territory of Libya, consistent with international law.
According to the head of mission of Egypt to the UN Ahmad Abu Zayed, 51st article of the UN Charter provides States the right to self-defence in case of attack from the territory of another state. The militants who committed the attack in al-Minya, came from Libya.
He also said that U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson called on the Minister for foreign Affairs of Egypt Sameh shoukry and expressed his condolences in connection with the attack. Tillerson said that the US supports Egypt in the fight against terror.

In the attack, 28 people died, 25 were injured. Most of the dead were children. Responsibility for the attack claimed by the terrorist group «Islamic state».
