The Prime Minister of Egypt, Sharif Ismail said that the government has approved a Russian-Egyptian agreement on construction of a nuclear power plant in Dabaa, in the vicinity of Alexandria.
The document has been submitted to the State Council, which is expected also will approve it. «The Foundation will be laid very soon,» promised Ishmael.
That coordination of all details of the agreement completed on 4 September announced Egypt’s President Abd al-Fattah al-Sisi. He invited his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to take part in the ceremony of laying the first stone.
In accordance with the agreement on nuclear power plants built by Rosatom Corporation, will have four power units of 1.2 GW. Russia will provide a loan of $ 25 billion, which is about 85% of the estimated cost of the project.
«The construction of nuclear power plants will lead to a significant rapprochement between Russia and Egypt in the political, economic and tourism sectors.
