Elections in Iran: Khamenei’s successor will be chosen by the reformers

The Central election Commission of Iran publishes revised data of the voting in the Parliament. After counting 90% of the votes of the Pro-presidential «List of hope» has won in all 30 Tehran seats.

Among conservatives the most votes scored gholamali Haddad-Adele, who currently holds the 31st place. Note that as expected, the opponents of rapprochement with the West will take revenge in the rural areas.

We will remind that on 16 February in the Islamic Republic was not only elected 290 MPs, but the 88 members of the Council of experts. The elections are held every eight years. As expected, the new composition will elect the successor of 76-year-old Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic revolution.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Islamic Republic, the leader of the revolution, not the President, is the real head of state. Thus, the power in Iran changed only once: in 1989, Khamenei succeeded the deceased Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic.

In elections of the Council of experts has been the biggest sensation in its composition have not been chosen nor the current Chairman Muhammad Yazdi, nor the spiritual mentor of former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Mesbah Yazdi. They were considered the leaders of the most conservative parts of the Council.

It should be noted: between the conservatives and the so-called «reformers,» there is no fundamental difference in the attitude of Israel. And they both deny the right of a Jewish state to exist.
