Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said it has evidence of Russia’s involvement in the sale of oil produced on the territory of the «Islamic state».
According to him, Turkey has evidence to show that Russia is buying oil from ISIS, and she is ready to provide them to the international community. The President called and the name of one of the buyers – entrepreneur George Hatsune possessing Russian citizenship.
Recall that speaking at the climate summit in Paris, President Vladimir Putin accused the Turkish government of involvement in the trade IG of the extracted oil. He said that thus Ankara is funding terrorists.
Immediately after that, Erdogan expressed readiness to resign if allegations are proved. He asked whether Putin to end his political career, if it turns out that Russia buys oil from Islamic state.
1 of December, Putin’s press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russia does not intend to introduce evidence of Turkey purchases oil from ISIS. He said that Russia’s goal is not to prove his innocence, and to use this information to fight terror.
