The Kurds, in turn, claimed the destruction of several thousand Turkish soldiers and militants from the «Free Syrian army».
Last week the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the operation «Olive branch» in the Syrian Affleck will be completed by may.
At the same time the pace President did not rule out holding another operation against the Kurds: on the border of Turkey and Iraq. According to his version, it could be a joint operation between Turkish and Iraqi armed forces, the details of which will be agreed after the Iraqi elections, to be held in may 2018.
Operation «Olive branch» was started by the Turkish army on 20 January 2018, in the North of Syria, near the city of Afrin. Its aim was the expulsion of the Kurdish armed forces (YPG, YPJ) from the border area. Information on losses of the parties are very contradictory.
