Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that «waving Israeli flags» will not save the government from Kurdistan regional isolation. He noted that Ankara is considering imposing economic and military sanctions against the «illegitimate government of Kurdistan».
«If the only odd one that supported the referendum, is Israel, and if the Kurdistan workers’ party begins to celebrate the victory before the publication of the final results, it does not make the referendum legitimate,» said on 26 September in Ankara, Turkish President Erdogan, quoted by the Hurriyet Daily News website.

Commenting on these photos, the paper said that Netanyahu was the only leader in the middle East region, which approved the holding of a referendum.
