The government of the U.S. state of California has allowed residents who were evacuated because of damage to the dam at lake Oroville, to return to their homes, reports the Los Angeles Times.
The evacuation of almost 200 thousand people was announced on Sunday. It was reported that the dam damaged by heavy rains can fall.
According to the County Sheriff’s office, published Tuesday, February 14, the water level in the lake dropped, and work continued on the strengthening of the dam.
However, as noted in the statement, residents should be prepared to re-evacuation in case of increasing threat level.
