Sunday, February 1, the magistrate’s court in Jerusalem extended four days the arrest of 15-year-old resident of Shuafat, a suspect in the attack on January 30 at 17-year-old Israeli man near Nablus gate.
The arrest of another 16-year-old suspected of committing this terrorist act, was extended to 31 January for five days.
As previously reported, the attack was carried out on the evening of 30 January at the Sultan Suleiman street in the area of Damascus gate of the Old city in Jerusalem. Two young Jews were attacked, leaving prayers at the Western Wall. One of the boys was slightly injured. Medics gave him first aid at the scene and then was taken to the hospital «Ar and Hadassah mount Scopus». A second Israeli was injured.
Wounded, 17-year-old youth from ultra-Orthodox families, a month and a half ago, immigrated to Israel from United States. According to the young man, he came to Israel to serve in the army, and his dream is to serve in one of the elite units of the IDF. At the moment he is studying at pearmatch preparatory courses.
Security forces detained two young Arabs suspected of involvement in the incident. Later, another suspect surrendered to the police, and then detained two more. All of the detained were minors, from 11 to 16 years.
