The FBI and Manhattan prosecutors are investigating against the company Uber on suspicion of using the software to fight competitors, according to The Wall Street Journal.
We are talking about the program called Hell («Hell») that followed the drivers of the service, determining which of them works simultaneously on Uber and its main competitor company, Lyft.
Then the representatives of Uber were associated with such drivers, offering them more favorable conditions of labor and bonuses in exchange for refusal of works on the competitor. The program allegedly was used in the period between 2014 and early 2016.
As noted NEWSru.com it is the third Federal investigation that is currently underway against the Uber. The FBI also is investigating the case of another software tool called Uber Greyball, which helped the drivers to avoid calls made by representatives of the transport regulators in the States where the activities of the service is prohibited or restricted.
In addition, the U.S. Department of justice conducts a preliminary investigation into possible violations by Uber managers of the Law on foreign corrupt practices, which prohibits the giving of bribes to officials of foreign countries.
