The Ministry of health reported the detection of five cases of measles in Jerusalem in recent weeks. Cases — not vaccinated women aged 20-40 years living in Arab and Jewish neighborhoods of the capital.
In other areas of Israel at the moment, cases of measles are registered.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of health increased the number of working hours in the tourist vaccination and reported on the purchase of an additional batch of vaccines for children and adults.
We will remind that last week the health Ministry published a recommendation to be vaccinated against measles to persons traveling to several European countries, including Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Romania, Poland and Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of health, vaccinations needed for those born between 1957 and 1978 and have not had measles and those born after 1978 but never received second dose of inoculation. However, this information is correct for the children of Israel. Born in Israel should get to know if they received two doses of measles vaccine in the country of birth or Israel.
Infants aged 6-11 years is recommended to vaccinate before the trip abroad with one dose of the vaccine.
