Sunday, may 21, Central Bureau of statistics published a forecast of how it will change Israel’s population in the next 50 years.
The CSB experts believe that in the coming decades, the population will continue to grow. It is expected that by 2024 in Israel will live 10 million people in the year 2048 15 million in 2065 20 million. The share of the Arabs, constituting currently about 21% of the population will be reduced to 19%.
According to the CBS forecast in the next 50 years will increase the share of religious population: if in 2015, the «haredim» some 11% of Israelis, then in 2040 they will account for 20% of the population, and in 2065 — not less than 32%.
In addition, the country’s population is aging: if in 2015 to 11.1% of the population were people over 65 years of age, by 2040 they will make up 14,3%, and by 2065 and 15.3% (about three million).
