The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow has sentenced to eight years in colony of General regime of the former Director of the Federal service of execution of punishments (FSIN) Russia to Alexander Reimer, reports «Interfax».
Reimer, convicted on the case about the theft of 1.3 billion rubles for the purchase of electronic bracelets, will also have to pay a fine in the amount of 800 thousand rubles.
In the case of fraud, the court, in addition to Reimer, also convicted two other defendants — former Deputy head of the Federal penitentiary service of Russia Nikolay Krivolapov and Director of «the Center for information and technical support and communication of the Federal penitentiary service» (FSUE CITOS) Victor Opredelena.
As follows from the materials published on the website of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Reimer and others involved in the case suspected that in the period from 2010 to 2012, fraudulently stole more than 2.7 billion rubles have been allocated Federal service of execution of punishment of the budget for the purchase of electronic bracelets. According to investigators, the employees of the FSIN made the purchase price «of gold jewelry». «So, a stationary control device cost 19 thousand roubles was bought for 108 thousand, and mobile, is the same 19 — at the price of 128 thousand,» — said in a statement on the website of the UK.
Note that in December 2010, the delegation of the Federal penal service visited Israel. After completing the working part of the visit Alexander Reimer gave an interview to the website NEWSru.co.il, in which he spoke about the Israeli experience, which he intends to use to reform the penitentiary system of Russia.
In 2012, former Secretary Alexander Reimer appealed to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation with the complaint, which accused him of sexual harassment and illegal wiretapping her phones. Decree of the President Reimer was removed from the post of Director of the Federal penitentiary service.
The TV channel «Rain» said that Reimer is the only former government official of the Russian Federation of such high rank, who after the dismissal had not found work in government agencies, and opened a private security Agency.
However, the «Novaya Gazeta», citing sources in the investigative agencies had claimed that before his arrest, Raymer was in Israel. In particular, the publication said that after the resignation from the post of head of the FSIN Reimer went to Germany for treatment, and soon moved to Israel. And, allegedly, six months before the arrest the investigating authorities «lured» him to Russia, promising that he be taken into custody.
It should be noted that Reimer is not a Jew. In an interview with NEWSru.co.il, answering the standard question, usually of interest to the Israelis, he explained that by nationality he is an «ethnic German».
